We are fascinated by vintage bagpipes. Each set has a story to tell about when they were once made, about the skills of the individual turner, the materials used and if they had an easy life or not. Some bagpipes come with full history such as invoices or other provenance whilst others require the knowledge of a seasoned bagpipe maker who is familiar with the different makers, turning styles but also external sizes and internal bores.

The most important part is the sound – we are fascinated by the variations in sound realised by different makers.
